Racism. It does not come from our skin, but from our minds and imbedded ideas we have learned. For thousands of years we have spread mental illusions of superior races and inferior races among humanity. At the root of racism, is the idea that humankind is somehow made up of separate and distinct races, with different qualities that can justify how each person should be treated.

Have you treated someone differently because of the colour of their skin? Is it right to carry on the mistakes of the past, to continue discrimination and prejudice for our future generations? Have you ever thought to look at humankind as ONE? One race, one single people, all of us living on Earth as if it is one country?

Humanity is biologically the same so we are scientifically one species. Even though we may have different physical and intellectual characteristics, we all have the same fundamental human biology, with the same capacities.

Consider a garden full of flowers. Imagine if they were all the same colour, same size, and had the same perfume. It wouldn’t seem beautiful at all, but rather boring and dull. Now consider a garden full of many different types of flowers with varying colours, perfumes, and growing side by side. This contrast of colour in the garden makes a more harmonious and beautiful sight to behold. We all are the same, the flowers of one garden, just with different values, experiences, interests, culture, and skin colour. Each human being is equal, yet each is distinctly valuable. Regardless where we come from, we can create unity in our diversity. We are all unified as ONE.

Let’s put an end to racism and the vicious cycle. It all starts with YOU. You are the future for the world. How will you contribute to creating unity in the world as ONE human race?
