This digital story was produced for the ARC Linkage Project The Role of the Creative Arts in Regional Australia: A Social Impact Model with the community of northwest Tasmania.

In 2022, the research team asked community members in northwest Tasmania to describe the role of place in the art and creativity of their community. 

Research participants described local arts and creativity as entirely informed and shaped by place, while also articulating the profound placemaking, place-shaping functions of arts and culture. Art, culture and creativity assists with community regeneration, defining and articulating the identity of a town or region, and establishing liveability.
