'escapees' is a visual art exhibition screened at Colourise Festival 2013: eARTh in Kurilpa Park, beside the Gallery of Modern Art, on the South Bank of Brisbane city. Kurilpa is a place frequented by Aboriginal people for millenia. The mobile exhibition offered the artists a way to present their work as an alterNATIVE to the exclusivity of gallery exhibitions,and an escape from the confinement of colonial cultural institutions.
