A short
documentary utilising the participatory mode, narrated by Wemba Wamba/Dhudhuroa
woman Jennifer Mason. The story encapsulates Aboriginal Leadership from the
early 1900’s and the narrative links themes of racism and the lack of
education, still present, to the NAIDOC continuum. In the traditional practice
of handing down knowledge, Jennifer yarns about personal experiences and weaves
cultural understandings and historical facts together. Holistically infusing
activism within this creative work, the aesthetic appeals to the poetic mode
and promotes the tone of pride, expressed through the research participants,
featured in the documentary.
